Adrenaline, elation, excitement. The emotion that overcomes you when you score a goal is impossible to replicate - even if you’ve scored 100 times before, the sensory overload comes back every time. Players train endlessly to strive for that moment and that feeling in a game. As goal scoring has unquestionably become an art form in and of itself, so have the celebrations that come along with it. With a variety of unique, classic and monumental celebrations to choose from, we decided to dive into some of the most noteworthy goal celebrations around the world. First; however, we’ll start in Kansas City with a St. Patrick’s Day Dance.
A rebound banged home by Kei Kamara led to one of the best celebrations that Major League Soccer has ever seen. Kamara and CJ Sapong were certainly in the St. Patrick’s day spirit after taking a 2-0 lead on the Revs; the duo busted out leprechaun hats and a jig that you just know they had been working on all week at training. Clearly, Zusi didn’t appreciate the props – but the home crowd definitely did and Sporting cruised to a 3-0 win.
